"This book is about the fictitious Seeker, who has known a lot of misery, and his visit to the "Library of Wisdom" where he meets another fictitious character - the Librarian- along with Warren Buffett and Charles Munger. The Seeker learns how to make better decisions to help his children avoid doing the dumb things he has done."
Presented in conversational format, The Seeker and Librarian did the asking and moderating while Messrs Buffet and Munger shared their wisdom in response.
To be sure, almost all the responses were sourced from publicly available materials (e.g. past annual reports of Berkshire Hathaway) or previously published books. But as the author, Peter Bevelin, once said, "we learn better if information is tied to a vivid story". And he did a good job in presenting many of the famously folksy tidbits to his readers as if we were having a chat with two wise and friendly uncles.
For this shopkeeper, it is the oxymoron in the Subtitle, Uncommon Common Sense, that nails the theme of this book.
